Gribbin Celebrates Dr. King’s Legacy With Song

Themes of hope, unity and acceptance resonated through Gribbin School during the annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. assembly. Students in kindergarten, first and second grade came together to sing songs and recite poignant words, taking the “Peace Pledge” and singing “We Shall Overcome” as a group.

During the assembly, kindergartners sang “Whole World in His Dream” and “Martin Luther King Jr.,” with second-graders singing, “It’s in Every One of Us.” First-grade students presented a motivational PowerPoint presentation titled, “Our Children Can Soar.” Additionally, selected second-grade “readers” in Caryn Stasco’s and Mark Glaviano’s classes spoke about Dr. King’s life and recounted some of his most famous words for the other students
