Coach Gow Wins Coach of the Year

Congratulations to Glen Cove High School varsity girls lacrosse coach Jacqueline Gow, who has been named the 2013 Coach of the Year from the Girls Lacrosse Coaches Association. Coach Gow is being honored for her outstanding body of work through the years and her team’s hard work and persistence through a challenging year. Coach Gow has served as the Big Red girls lacrosse coach since 1999, when she won her first Nassau County Coach of the Year award, followed by honors in 2000, 2001 and 2011. She was inducted into the Glen Cove Hall of Fame in 2003 and the Metropolitan Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 2000.

Since 1995, Coach Gow has served as the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Coordinator for Girls Lacrosse. In 1998, she launched the Glen Cove girls lacrosse program, serving as JV girls lacrosse coach her first year and leading the team to a 10-1-1 record. Coach Gow also coached PAL teams locally, won championships as the Friends Academy varsity lacrosse coach in the early 1990s and also served as Hofstra womens lacrosse head coach.
