Connolly PE Students Recognized

Each year, two students are selected to receive an “Outstanding Physical Education Student of the Year Award” from the Nassau Zone of the New York State Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance. The Nassau Zone of NYS-AHPERD is a professional service organization that represents professionals from across several disciplines and encourages lifetime fitness, as well as overall health, wellness and quality programs for all school children.

This award is intended to recognize the efforts of one male and one female student exiting from the fifth grade. The selection criteria included a concern for health and wellness, fitness levels, and attention to the personal living skills and value statements encouraged by the physical education program in Connolly School, which is in line with the New York State Learning Standards.

Congratulations to fifth-graders Erick Brown and Ciara Doyle for receiving this award!
