Big Scholarships Awarded to Two GC Grads

The Gloria M. Barron Foundation has awarded significant scholarship monies to two graduating seniors from the Glen Cove High School Class of 2013. John Paul Benitez and Serena Puca will each receive $12,500 for college tuition, donated by the foundation. The Gloria M. Barron Scholarship is awarded to first generation bound students based on their essay submissions explaining their desire to attend college. Recipients must also maintain a B+ grade point average.

John Paul was also announced as a recipient of the Fundacion Hispanoamericana Scholarship as well as the John and Ernest Pascucci and Jack Ain memorial scholarships. Serena is also a recipient of the Carmen Cicero Scholarship.
