Dear Colleagues,

Join the 2014 cohort of AASA’s National Superintendent Certification Program! If you are looking for a chance to meet some interesting and talented colleagues and hone your professional skills, this is the time to act. You need to apply by April 1 to be included in this year’s cohort.

You will learn from the best in the business. You will also have the opportunity to design a capstone project that suits your needs and the needs of your own district. This is a program grounded in the real world.

In addition, for the first time, school system leaders who complete the program are eligible to receive up to 24 credits—an approximate $25,000 value—toward a doctor of education degree administered by Nova Southeastern University. NSU’s doctoral program has a concentration in education leadership that focuses on the knowledge, skills and abilities needed by a chief executive officer. It combines senior administrative research with critical and creative thinking that will address educational challenges for today’s superintendent.

As I have said before, at AASA our job is to help you succeed at your job. I am convinced that the National Superintendent Certification Program can provide you with a huge professional boost. Together with our partner, The Supes Academy, we have planned a robust experience for superintendents focusing on sharpening their skills and practices that are necessary for success.

An application form for the program can be accessed by visiting http://aasa.org/content.aspx?id=28230. If you have any questions, please call the program office at 855-803-7547.

Sincerely,

Daniel A. Domenech,
Executive Director
