Eighteen dancers ages 8-17 from St. Petersburg's internationally acclaimed Russian folk dance troupe, Rossijanochka, performed for the whole school at the Wunsch Center and treated us all to a breathtaking display of traditional Russian costumes, music and dance. When the time came, we joined right in too.

After the performance, troupe members visited second grade classrooms to meet students personally, answer questions about themselves and teach a few dance steps.

Second grade school ambassadors then joined the troupe for lunch and more conversation in Discovery Cove. One important discovery some students made was that Russian tablet PCs have the same games as our own.  Our guests then visited the playground for some recess soccer and a chance to simply share a sunny day with our students.

What would it feel like to be part of a world class dance ensemble?  Second graders next glimpsed the answer by tackling some complex choreography with Rossijanochka members in an afternoon workshop -- as a very full day of joyous International learning, work and play drew to a close.
