At Landing School, reading is always an adventure! Landing School Principal Dimitri Kryoneris and his staff encourage students to begin and end each day with a good book.

With the new Reading Adventures program, two eager readers are chosen from each class to journey inside Landing’s Reading Adventures Cave.  The “cave”— a giant inflatable tube — is nearly seven feet tall and spans the length of Landing’s all-purpose room.

Coordinated by David Smith, the Reading Adventures Cave is prepared every other Friday morning for new winners. Our early-bird bookworms arrive at 8:35 a.m. to enjoy a 20-minute literary adventure inside the cave with friends and a great book.

The Reading Adventures program has hundreds of Landing’s third-, fourth- and fifth-graders arriving with a book in hand, along with the hope of being selected for the next opportunity to “get lost” inside the Reading Adventures Cave with a great book.
