Connolly Elementary School’s K-Kids continue to display caring acts of kindness for others in the community. For their most recent endeavor, the students built “ER Bears” – teddy bears given to other young children in the hospital who may be in need of a little consolation or comfort. The K-Kids crafted approximately 60 bears, which they donated to North Shore-LIJ University Hospital in Glen Cove.

More than 50 Connolly fifth graders are members of the K-Kids team. The students work under the direction of advisors Alison Fletcher, Erin O’Beirne and Sandra Vigliotti. The K-Kids officers are Amelia Masio, Abigail Ortiz, Tatyana Mills, Casey Lizza, Alejandra Alvarez, Kevin Garcia, Yesenia Morales and Hetty McMillan.

Additionally, the K-Kids recently held a school-wide clothing drive to benefit The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center, which had an extremely short supply of clothing.
