Glen Cove High School a Lifesaver

This year, students and staff at Glen Cove High School have donated 92 lifesaving units of blood to Long Island Blood Services during two drives, one conducted in December and a second held more recently. According to Glen Cove Student Senate Advisor Ellen Lynch, the Student Senate volunteered a great deal of time advertising the event and recruiting students and staff members to donate blood. Due to the tremendous response in December (55 lifesaving units donated) many who wanted to contribute blood again were unable to, based on the required medical recovery time between donations.
