Students in Lorraine Clementz’s fourth-grade class at Connolly received a hands-on lesson on silk screening thanks to Susan Czechowski, an art professor at Western Illinois University.

Czechowski, who specializes in silk screening and printing, assisted students, helping them to create the T-shirts they had designed. The children used screens and a squeegee to press the ink through their designs and onto the shirts.

Principal Sekelsky extended her gratitude to Czechowski, a family member of a student in Clementz’s class, for bringing the wonderful program to the school.
