Glen Cove High School students recently participated in the fifth annual STEM/STEAM Diversity Summit at Farmingdale State College.

The projects presented at the event were completed by the students in collaboration with NYIT Science Technology Entry Program. They researched topics and developed and tested hypotheses. In addition to creating the projects, the students presented their findings via poster board along with verbal presentations at the summit.

The focus of the conference was to celebrate diversity and excellence. It further sought to promote STEM/STEAM education through active learning. In all, nine students had projects submitted at the event. Five of those students attended the conference, which was attended by college representatives, professionals and government officials.

More than 20 faculty members from Glen Cove City School District also attended the summit for professional development and learning.
