Glen Cove students had an opportunity to learn about their future educational prospects when the guidance department held its third annual College Fair in the high school gymnasium on April 15.

The event, which was attended by representative from more than 90 colleges and the Armed Forces, included two workshops: Financial Aid 101: Understanding the Financial Aid Process, presented by Vincent Tunstall, manager of new student enrollment at LIU Post, and Transitioning to College for Students with Disabilities, presented by Alyssa Provenzano, assistant director of disability services at New York Institute of Technology.

According to Interim Guidance Chairperson Diane Johnson, the fair provides district students with valuable information.

“It’s important for our youngsters to see the many opportunities available to them when they leave Glen Cove,” Johnson said. “There are also many careers that are constantly changing, and the people here can answer questions about careers that maybe didn’t exist five years ago.”
