Pep Rally Kicks Off Homecoming Weekend

Students, faculty and staff gathered at Glen Cove High School on Oct. 9 for the annual pep rally that marked the end of Spirit Week and the beginning of homecoming weekend.

The high-energy event celebrated Glen Cove’s athletes and featured outstanding performances by the school’s student-musicians, cheerleaders and kickline team. It also featured a show-stopping performance by freshman Chris Zachary, who danced to “Billy Jean” dressed as Michael Jackson.

The pep rally was organized by the school’s Student Senate, whose members created posters and coordinated the day’s activities. Each year at the pep rally, in addition to honoring students, the Student Senate honors one or more faculty or staff members who have impacted students during their years in Glen Cove. Congratulations to English teacher Teresa McHale and Head of Security Don Schutt!
