The top 10 students from Glen Cove High School’s Class of 2016 were recognized for their outstanding achievements by school administrators and the Board of Education during the Board’s Nov. 16 meeting at Landing Elementary School.

Glen Cove High School Principal Antonio Santana commended the students, describing them as “a great source of pride for the school and community.” Superintendent of Schools Maria Rianna echoed Santana’s comments, adding that the group of students honored were really nice kids.
Congratulations to the following students, who are ranked in order: valedictorian Maria Krisch, salutatorian Michelle Melfi, honorarian Justin Sobelman, Alexandra Casale, Catherine Hatala, Victoria Tripp, Grace Blinkoff, Dani Dratch, Tea Grzanov and Duncan Yates.

In addition to honoring the Class of 2016’s top students, the Board viewed mystery book report projects created by Landing School fifth-graders. Landing teacher Denise Reynolds was joined by students Colette Brunelle and William Romeo, who presented their projects.
