Glen Cove High School students and their families joined members of the community at the school’s second International Night on Nov. 18.
The multicultural evening, which was highlighted by an outstanding performance from the Glen Cove High School Select Chorale, gave families an opportunity to meet with members of local community agencies, including the Glen Cove Boys & Girls Club and SAFE Inc., who shared information about their respective organizations. The group also enjoyed traditional ethnic food donated by local businesses, which included Andros Grill, Forest Pizza, Glen Cove Diner, La Famiglia and Wild Fig Mediterranean Grill & Pideria. Students’ families also prepared and donated food for the multicultural occasion. While those in attendance feasted on many delicious dishes, they also enjoyed watching dance performances by members of the high school’s Dance Club.
Foreign Language and ESL Coordinator Monica Chavez organized International Night as a way to reach out to Glen Cove families who speak English as their second language.
