Glen Cove Wins LI Holiday Heroes Community Service Challenge

The W20 Foundation's Team Up 4 Community Program has announced that the volunteer efforts of Glen Cove High School’s lacrosse athletes instructing local youths how to play lacrosse has won first place in its LI Holiday Heroes Community Service Challenge.

The organization commended the students on the work they are doing with Glen Cove’s youngsters to teach them the valuable lesson of community service. The first-place win comes with a $3,000 award.

A special thanks to Eileen Borer and Suzanne Anderson, who encouraged Glen Cove High School students to vote each time they entered the school library. The pair also created flyers to remind the entire school community to vote, which certainly impacted the successful results of the contest.
