Connolly Students Spruce Up Their School

Student Council members at Connolly Elementary School recently planted mums along the main entryway of the school to kick off National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Student Council co-advisors Susan Stanco and Monique Vaccaro, as well as other school staff members joined the students by getting their hands dirty digging the flowerbeds. Principal Rosemarie Sekelsky said in addition to spreading awareness in the fight against breast cancer, the activity gives Student Council members a sense of caring and pride for their school community.
Connolly students are involved in numerous beautification projects throughout the course of the school year. The Glen Cove Beautification Committee donated the mums.
