Glen Cove Community Celebrates Homecoming

Everyone was proud to be a Knight on Oct. 15 as Glen Cove students, staff and community members came together for Glen Cove High School’s annual homecoming parade and football game.

Marchers accompanied their well-decorated floats on the parade route from Gribbin Elementary School to Glen Cove High School as community members cheered them on. Then, each of the groups paraded around the track as the crowd greeted them with applause.

Pregame festivities included the introduction of the student senate and homecoming court, followed by performances by Glen Cove Middle School cheerleaders, the Glen Cove High School junior varsity cheerleaders and the drum line.

At halftime, the audience was treated to more entertainment from the Glen Cove High School marching band, kickline and varsity cheerleaders. Lindsey Payton and Dominic Gaudio were named homecoming queen and king.

As for the football game, Glen Cove worked hard, but fell to New Hyde Park in a close game, 21-20.
