Sounds of the Holiday Season

The sounds of winter and the holiday season were heard throughout the Glen Cove Schools during the month of December, as buildings conducted their annual winter concerts.

Performances featured the vocal and instrumental talents of students ranging from Kindergarten through 12th grade. Despite what has been a fairly mild winter season so far, in keeping with tradition, songs centered on the snow and chilly temperatures normally associated with winter. Many holiday favorites were also a part of the set lists. At Gribbin School, Mrs. Vanommeren’s second-grade class kicked off the school concert with a brief play based on the book Tacky the Penguin. Connolly School’s concert included musical acts from Anastasia. At Deasy School, Superintendent of Schools Dr. Joseph A. Laria lent his vocal talents, joining Principal Nomi Rosen for a fun duet.

Happy Holidays to all!
