Deasy Outreach sponsored a Parent University on Oct. 26. While the parents came to “school” for the night, Deasy students showed up dressed in pajamas to watch “Hotel Transylvania 2.”

Parents took part in the following workshops:
•    Book Talk: English language arts coordinator Andrew DiNapoli discussed the importance of reading as a tool that furthers comprehension and understanding. Parents walked away with accessible strategies that could be used when engaging in reading-based conversations with their children.
•     Math for Tomorrow: math coordinator Cassie Shannon offered fundamentals to Common Core math, enabling parents to better support their children’s learning.
•    STEAM Session: STEAM teacher Jessica McKenna taught parents how to navigate their way through various databases and resources that Glen Cove has available for them to use at home with their children.

The evening was well attended by parents and children.
