Glen Cove High School’s top 10 students of the Class of 2017 were recognized at the Board of Education’s Dec. 12 meeting. School administrators and board members congratulated them on their outstanding academic achievements.

Glen Cove High School Principal Antonio Santana commended the students, describing them as “simply outstanding.”

“The amount of pride that I feel as a high school principal is probably very minimal compared to the pride of their parents,” Santana said. “I’d like to acknowledge all the efforts put forth by their parents in raising such fantastic people.”

Superintendent of Schools Dr. Maria Rianna extended her congratulations to the students, who serve as “role models for the rest of the school.”

Congratulations to the following students, who are ranked in order: valedictorian Julie Micko, salutatorian Geovani Antonio Flores, honorarian Laura Marie Roesch, Daniel Davidnan Baboolal, Samantha Grace Barry, Amara Che’Simone Phillip, Brian Matthew Shannon, Enaiya Jahan Awan, Alyssa Marie Zangari and Shelbie Katherine Farnan.
