Glen Cove High School students in grades 11 and 12, as well as DECA club members and those studying economics, took part in a financial literacy workshop sponsored by Assemblyman Charles Lavine in conjunction with Working in Support of Education.

During the event, students went head to head in a personal finance game, which covered a variety of topics such as types of investments and the difference between a debit card and a credit card. W!SE Executive Vice President David Anderson said the workshop is orchestrated to provide insight to students on how to manage their finances.

Ryan Adell, a high school student and former participant in Assemblyman Lavine’s Summer Student program, organized the event in an effort to educate his peers about personal finance as they transition to college and adult life.
