Student Recognition and Presentations at BOE Meeting

BOE Meeting
The Board of Education recently honored 37 current and former Glen Cove High School students for being named Advanced Placement Scholars by the College Board following their outstanding performance on the May 2016 AP exams.

Superintendent of Schools Dr. Maria Rianna and Glen Cove High School Principal Antonio Santana introduced the students and commended them on their achievements.

“These students standing before you are not only scholars, they are wonderful young men and women,” said Dr. Rianna. “The future has a lot to hold if it’s in their hands. Whatever they choose to do it will be an honor to their profession, to their choices and they will have many in the days to come.

In addition to the student recognition, the Board and community members heard the first budget presentation for the 2017-18 school year and were provided with information on the work being accomplished by Glen Cove High School’s guidance department.
