Students at Landing Elementary School took part in a circus without ever having to leave for the big top. The Landing School gymnasium served as the setting for the National Circus Project, an arts-in-education program that teaches young children balance, agility, hand-eye coordination, concentration and discipline through a series of circus-like activities that are safe, yet very rewarding. Circus Project instructors taught the Landing students the art of juggling, plate spinning and the use of “devil sticks,” among other fun physical challenges. All of the Circus Project instructors have either professional circus experience or a performance background.

Based in Westbury, NY, the National Circus Project has conducted workshops in schools throughout the eastern United States since 1984, with many appearances abroad as well.
