The Glen Cove High School Big Red Boys Varsity Basketball team defeated Floral Park in its first-round playoff matchup at Glen Cove High School, winning 57-54. The team overcame a 10-point deficit, led by Kewan Beebe¹s 26 points, including 10 in the fourth quarter. Unfortunately, the ride ended there as the Big Red lost to Jericho in the Class A quarterfinal.

According to Coach Peter Falen, this year¹s team was dedicated and hardworking, with six seniors and five underclassmen filling out the roster.
Seniors Mauro Carignano, Dahkeem Williams, Johnny Fiorino, Chris Theodorou, Yadiyah Letellier, and Nick Basile have led by example, with help from returning starters Frankie Mickens, Mike Acerra, Tommy Ziegen and Brandon Deloatch. Kewan, commonly referred to as "Cash" by his teammates, led the team in scoring this year, averaging more than 18 points per game. He is also ranked third in the County in three-point field goals.

For the first time in 22 years, the team  won the Conference III championship, finishing the regular season with a record of 14-3 in Conference III, 10-2 in league play.

Congratulations to Coach Falen and the team on a fine season.
