For the second consecutive year, Glen Cove High School’s Julia Farley placed first at the LIU Post Student Film/Video Festival.

Julia's animated piece, "Keeper" is an original story from her remarkably creative brain. The judges remembered Julia's winning piece, "Pretty" from last year and were impressed that she managed to pull out a simultaneous victory. They were also impressed with how her abilities and skills as a storyteller have matured.

Senior Laura Roesch also presented her video "John Jacob" at the festival and received critical acclaim from the judges and positive comments from the students in attendance.

In addition, Julia's animated piece, "Save the Bees" was selected to move on from her "Best in Show" win at the Long Island Media Art Show and will now be shown at the First Exposure Film Festival sponsored by the Suffolk County Film Commission. Julia will be honored with a certificate from Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone. First Exposure takes place at the Cinema Arts Center in Huntington on May 21 at 2 p.m. Congratulations!
