The Glen Cove City School District is proud to announce Peter Cardone as the new director of health, physical education and athletics. 

Cardone, a Massapequa resident, was appointed at the Board of Education’s Reorganization Meeting on July 13. Before coming to Glen Cove, Cardone was the athletic director and a physical education teacher for the William Cullen Bryant High School in Long Island City. He also was a physical education teacher at Bronx Park Middle School. Cardone served as head wrestling coach for the William Cullen Bryant High School since 2014 and was named New York City Wrestling Coach of the Year in 2016.   

Cardone has an Advanced Graduate Certificate in educational leadership from the College of St. Rose, a Master of Science in physical education from Hofstra University and a Bachelor of Arts in business management from Long Island University. He also holds New York State certifications in educational leadership, physical education K-12, special education 7-12, business education K-12 and coaching.

“I am very excited to start my career at Glen Cove. [The district] has a prestigious sports program along with an amazing physical education/health education curriculum,” Cardone said. “I’m looking forward to working with the community of Glen Cove as well as all stakeholders. My goal is to make a positive impact in all students’ lives and educate them on the importance of living a healthy and active lifestyle. Go Big Red!”
