Robert M. Finley Middle School will present a production of Schoolhouse Rock Live on Friday March 30 and Saturday March 31 at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, April 1 at 3:00 p.m. at the Wunsch Center at Finley Middle School. Tickets are $8 for adults and $7 for students and senior citizens. Call 801-7510 for ticket information, or buy them at the door.

Schoolhouse Rock Live is based on the popular Emmy Award-winning 1970s Saturday morning educational cartoon series Schoolhouse Rock, which emphasized history, grammar, math, science and politics through clever, tuneful songs and shorts such as “Just a Bill on Capitol Hill” and “Conjunction Junction.” The story revolves around Tom, a nerve-wracked teacher whose first day on the job jitters almost get the better of him, until he tunes into the tube and the Schoolhouse Rock characters come alive. The characters teach Tom how to win over his students using imagination and music.

Finley Middle School’s production of Schoolhouse Rock Live stars Victor Mendonca, Will Casale, Elizabeth Grieco, Evelina Backiel, Harrison Israel, and Marisa Fahey who lead a cast of 54 students in grades six, seven and eight. Finley Theater Director Joy Sullivan encourages you to come out and support these talented young performers. Brittney Frank is Assistant Director. In addition to the cast, approximately 20 Finley students serve as members of the sound, lighting and stage crew.
