Superintendent of Schools Dr. Joseph A. Laria recently visited Melanie Arfman’s twelfth-grade Participation in Government class at Glen Cove High School to inform students about the May 15th School District Budget Vote and Trustee Election, and how school operations are funded through the district portion of the tax levy. Dr. Laria provided insight into the new tax levy cap law and how the Glen Cove School District has prudently managed expenditures and reserve funds to propose a budget for the 2012-13 school year that preserves all programs and is within the New York State tax levy cap.

The Glen Cove School District encourages all eligible students and residents to vote today. For more information on the budget, please read the special budget edition of The Knightline, which can be found on this website. Voting takes place at Finley, Connolly and Landing Schools, as well as the Glen Cove Boys and Girls Club. Polls are open until 9 p.m. Please remember to vote.
