Honorable for On-Air Talent

Congratulations to Glen Cove High School (GCHS) Communication Arts Academy Junior Francesca Sharper on earning an Honorable Mention win in the MSG Varsity V Awards in the On-Air Talent category. Along with the honor comes a $1,000 grant from MSG Varsity for the GCHS Communication Arts program for future equipment purchases.

Francesca recently completed her taping of MSG Varsity's original program, "The Student News." “Francesca was fantastic on camera. A natural,” said Communication Arts teacher Chris Barry, who accompanied Francesca to the MSG Varsity studios in Woodbury for the taping. “It was an excellent experience for her; she has found her calling.”

Francesca's episode of "The Student News" airs on June 9th on MSG Varsity, Channel 14 on Cablevision, and will rerun throughout June. The segment will also be available on this site in the near future.
