Sophomore students in Rosa Malley’s Spanish classes at Glen Cove High School researched organizations that help others as part of their unit study on the environment.

As a culminating activity to their research, students worked in groups to create posters representing the organization they chose to help. They then presented their research to their classmates in Spanish. Students explained each organization, including who it helped and how. They also shared why they made their selection.

The classes did a wonderful job with their posters, which focused on a variety of charitable endeavors, including helping the homeless, providing toys for less fortunate children, helping the elderly, protecting the environment and rescuing abused animals.

Students also shared slogans they selected for their organization’s efforts, including “Make the world a better place” and “There’s nothing stronger than the heart of a volunteer.”
