Dear Colleagues and Parents

At its regularly scheduled business meeting on November 26th, the Board of Education approved the budget development calendar for the 2013 – 2014 budget as attached.  The development of next year’s budget will be a daunting task in light of the 2% tax cap levy and other economic considerations effecting the district, state and nation. Every reasonable effort will be made to BALANCE educational soundness with fiscal economy. As we go forward during this challenging year, let us be mindful that we must have the courage to say NO to the things we want so that we will have the capacity to say YES to the things we really need. We must have the fortitude to separate our needs from our wants. All members of the school community are encouraged to participate in the budget development process which will begin in earnest after the holidays. Our mission is to develop a consensus which will ultimately result in a voter approved budget on May 21, 2013.
