Landing School students participated in the Jr. NBA Skills Challenge in February. As part of the contest, students have one minute to dribble through cones and score points from designated spots on the basketball court. Students practiced throughout the week to prepare for the regional competition, which was held on March 16 at Basketball City on Pier 36 in Manhattan. The students capped off this great achievement with a culminating basketball showcase for the Landing fifth grade. Landing physical education teacher Karen Serani expressed her pride to all students who entered the contest. Congratulations to the following winners in their age division:

Alfred Seaman – 31 points (first place)
Elias Jorge – 28 points (second place)
Marco Johnson – 22 points (third place tie)

Girls Under 11
Anjhelyny Hernandez – 17 points (first place)
Mia Lupinski – 13 points (second place)
Sophia Gonzalez – 13 points (third place)

Boys Under 13
Jordan Robinson –30 points (first place)
Leybis Villatoro – 27 points (second place)
Phillip Delfino – 13 points (third place)

Girls Under 13
Keyri Jaco Ronquillo – 7 points (first place)
