Former Glen Cove Tennis Athlete Achieves College Athletic Honors!

"The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) named State University of New York at New Paltz freshman Trinity Chow as the SUNYAC Tennis Singles Player of the Week Monday.

Chow has had a break-out first-year with the Hawks (7-0 overall, 7-0 SUNYAC) and it continued over the weekend in three 9-0 sweeps over SUNY Geneseo, Fredonia State and The College at Brockport Friday, Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

The Glen Cove, NY native didn't drop a game during her team's three-game stretch. She handily defeated the Blue Devils' Anna Chiacchia and the Golden Eagles' Autumne Venturino 6-0, 6-0 in first singles and earned a 6-1, 6-0 victory in a first singles match against the Knights' Olga Shvetsova.

Her efforts helped SUNY New Paltz end the regular season undefeated, while also clinching the top seed in the SUNYAC playoffs for the first time since 2006.

Chow and the Hawks conference championship run begins Friday, as they are back on the court for a SUNYAC semifinals match up with No. 4 seed Fredonia State at the Binghamton Racquet Club."
