Glen Cove’s Own ‘Care Bears’

As an annual project, the Connolly Elementary School K-Kids created “Get Well Bears” for children in the emergency room at Glen Cove Hospital.  The bears often serve to calm young patients as they await care in the ER.  North Shore Kiwanis liaison to the Connolly K-Kids Leslie McCarthy recently presented the comforting stuffed bears to the staff in the ER on behalf of the K-Kids and once again, the bears very well received by the children.

Connolly teachers Nancy Cox and Sandra Vigliotti serve as advisors to the K-Kids Club, which has received multiple awards of distinction for its service to the community. Displaying the bears are hospital staffers Ewa Lazarska, Gwen Jones, Ms. McCarthy, Chenita Evans, Moveta Murray, and Luis Pina.
