Finley students in Susan Rodriguez’s seventh-grade class were recognized for solving 100,000 math problems on IXL, a math program that gives students individual practice on Common Core math questions.

The math problems were completed at home throughout the school year, and students who participated earned a certificate of achievement. The children are currently competing with approximately 50,000 middle school students nationwide in an IXL-sponsored contest to see which school can complete the most math problems in a month’s time. The top three winning schools will earn a pizza party.
