Deasy first-graders took part in an exercise activity that featured jumping jacks, pushups and burpees when they recently commemorated the 100th day of school.

Led by first-grade teacher Steve Bromberg, the students performed 10 sets of 10 different exercises as they counted aloud. They also participated in academic activities focused on the 100-day theme, such as counting snacks in groups of 10s and completing writing assignments that finished the phrases, “When I am 100 years old…” and “My favorite things I’ve done in the first 100 days of school are….”

Many of the children were dressed as centenarians as part of the celebration, sporting silver hairspray, spectacles and suspenders. They also colored 100-day crowns and read stories about the 100th day of school.
