The Robert M. Finley Middle School presented the Broadway musical “The Lion King” on March 4, 5 and 6.

Immense audiences enjoyed the sensational middle school cast, as they sang and danced their way through this Disney hit. The cast was led by Jonathan Jackson (Scar), Andrew Costella (Mufassa), Elijah James and Casey Hill (Simba and Young Simba), Isabelle Unger and Sarah Israel (Nala and Young Nala), Edward Goodyear (Pumbaa), Elana Ortiz-Moreno (Timon), Alex Suozzi (Zazu) and Julia Abbondonza, who weaved a musical and mystical magic (Rafiki).

The entire 50-student cast and Student Tech crew were greeted by standing ovations after each performance. The beautiful costumes by Geraldine Hackett and Broadway-calibre make-up designed by Finley art teacher Amanda Rodriguez created a dazzling picture in front of the spectacular colorful backdrop of the African Savannah. Director/Choreographer/Musical Director Jon Grodeski was so proud of all that the cast and crew achieved in creating this marvelous musical.
