Kindergartners in Irena Kamola’s class at Gribbin School recently experienced the life cycle of the butterfly. The students had an opportunity to watch the caterpillars grow, form their chrysalis and hatch into butterflies. Then, on a beautiful spring morning, they invited their first-grade friends in Antoinette Hatzopoulos's class to join them as they released the butterflies. The children also pretended they were butterflies, using a straw as the proboscis of a butterfly as they sipped delicious pear nectar.
