Ninth grade social studies students at GCHS were visited by Helen Turner, the director of the Youth Education-Holocaust Memorial and Tolerance Center of Nassau County, who presented “Understanding Impact: Deconstruction Symbols of Hate.” Ms. Turner spent the entire day at Glen Cove High School discussing the power of kindness and making informed decisions that are not bias or discriminatory. The presentation empowered students to become upstanders and understand that their actions and decisions should be based on morals and values that will encourage and support openness and diversity.
