Congratulations to senior Greg Villafane who has been named a National Hispanic Recognition Program Scholar.

Established in 1983 through the National Merit Scholarship Corporation, the NHRP honors about 5,000, of the highest-scoring students from more than 400,000 Hispanic/Latino juniors who take the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test last year. Qualifications for recognition are based on critical reading, mathematics and writing scores on the PSAT/NMSQT and a minimum GPA of 3.5.

Although there is no financial reward, scholars receive a certificate and the NHRP sends a list of all recognized students to subscribing colleges and universities.

Greg excels academically, athletically and musically. He is a member of the Varsity Soccer team and a talented pianist.

The district congratulates Greg on this exceptional award and wishes him a successful senior year.
