Auxiliary School Organizations

 

Relationships among these groups are essential for effective development of the child. These organizations welcome into their membership parents, teachers, administrators, and all interested citizens.

Booster Club
The Glen Cove Booster Club is a parental organization that supports the athletic program at Glen Cove High School. The Booster Club hosts an awards ceremony in June to honor athletes participating in the fall, winter and spring sports. In addition, the club sponsors many activities designed to promote school spirit and generate community involvement in the sports program. Special Education Parent-Teacher Association (SEPTA)
SEPTA is an affiliate of the National PTA, supporting the same basic goals. In addition, SEPTA supports, strengthens and promotes a greater awareness and understanding of special education and the child with exceptional needs. SEPTA welcomes the membership of parents, teachers, administrators and others. For information, contact President Annie Phillips at 516-413-2443.

Community Scholarship Fund of Glen Cove, Inc.
This organization acts as a clearinghouse for scholarship donations from various individuals, businesses and organizations, within and outside of the community. Scholarship winners are selected on the basis of academic performance, school and community involvement, and financial need. Applications are due in the high school guidance department in January. A Scholarship Brunch is held annually in March to raise funds so that our deserving seniors can be awarded scholarships. Glen Cove Education Foundation
A not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of education for all students of the Glen Cove School District, the foundation raises money and seeks financial support from private donors, corporations, local businesses, and foundations in order to enhance the existing educational programs offered by our schools. Glen Cove Youth Bureau
This organization offers young people, ages 5-20, participation in leisure-time activities, help in gaining and retaining employment, after-school and summer enrichment programs, information on the many services available in the community, or simply a place to stop by for recreation and conversation. Substance-Abuse-Free Environment (SAFE)
This nonprofit drug and alcohol prevention program creates programs and activities to help people deal with potentially difficult life situations in a positive way. For information, contact Executive Director Sharon Harris at 516-676-2008.

Music Performing Arts Parents Association (MPAPA)
The Music Parents Association is a parental organization that supports the music programs at Glen Cove High School. The club sponsors activities designed to generate community involvement in the music programs. For information, contact Nicole Callahan at 516-987-3615 or at npdehney@hotmail.com.
